Employment Opportunity: Arnhold Faculty Fellowship in Cognitive Approaches to Literary Studies

11/11/2009
The UC Santa Barbara English Department invites applications for the Arnhold Faculty Fellowship. This fellowship has a term of one year. The fellowship offers recent recipients of the Ph.D. (awarded between January 1, 2007, and June 30, 2010) a unique opportunity to develop their research and teaching interests in association with the UCSB English Department’s Literature & Mind concentration, which organizes research activities and offers a curricular specialization (see http://mind.english.ucsb.edu/).

The fellowship is designed to attract a scholar not currently in a tenure track position whose approach to literary studies would complement the balance of approaches in the Literature & Mind concentration by being centrally engaged with recent developments in neuro/cognitive science, neuro/cognitive linguistics, and/or history of mind. We welcome candidates who have an interest in conjunctions and disjunctions between the sciences and the humanities . . .
