This assignment asks students in English 147ss at UC Santa
Barbara to experience the process and challenges of taking
an oral performance and translating it into a textual format.
Seven students volunteered to perform and have the audio
component of their performances recorded. Groups of students
then worked to create textualizations of the audio
recordings.

The design of the site, as well as the research, is done by the students. Neither the content nor the form is vetted by the instructor.
