requirements or the new minor
requirements. Some courses for the old minor are no longer available.

- 4.0 units of pre-1700 literature from English 115, 117A,
117B, 117E, 118, 119, 144, 145, 152A, 152B, 157, 160, 162
- 4.0 units of literature from 1700's to 1900's from English
126A, 126B, 126C, 136A, 136B, 137A, 138B, 168, 169, 172,
177, 178, 179, 180, 181
- 12.0 units of English electives
Depending on course content the following courses may apply
to Area 1 or to Area 2 of the upper-division minor: English
114AA-ZZ, 128AA-ZZ, 131, 132AA-ZZ, 133AA-ZZ, 134AA-ZZ, 151AA-ZZ,
165AA-ZZ. Any of these courses apply automatically to area

A and B in a given quarter. Substitutions and waivers are
subject to approval by the chair of the department.
