Ryan Leach is a PhD candidate in English at UCSB. His research engages with the fields of media theory, dh, and game studies. Before coming to UCSB, Ryan received an MA in English from Georgetown University, where his thesis focused on material representations of book-death (or book-obsolescence) in contemporary speculative fiction. Now, he focuses on the representational and functional roles of computer code in contemporary digital cultural objects.
