On May 25th, 2022 from 9:45 AM–6:00 pm PST, the UCSB American Cultures and Global Contexts Center will host “Mas Intersections: Exploring Diasporic Carnival and Festival Cultures.” This hybrid conference will feature international scholars, artists, dancers, and activists exploring subversive displays of power, the politics of racialized, sexualized & nationalized bodies, and the trickster energy of play through the lens of Carnival and (mas)querade. Join us in discourse and dance!
