“This course will focus in on three major plays by Shakespeare from the three major genres in which he wrote in the early part of his career (comedy, history, and, at the very end of his early career, tragedy). The plays are The Taming of the Shrew, Richard II, and Hamlet. There will also be much intermixing of critical reading with viewing and interpretation of film clips. The course requirements are regular attendance in lecture, a multiple choice test for each play, a multiple choice exam on all three plays, and a blog to be kept by each student for each week totally a minimum of 10 pages.”
