Anita Raychawdhuri
PhD Alumna
Anita Raychawdhuri is interested in how queerness and race interacted and informed each other in early modern drama. Her dissertation is primarily concerned with the formation of the ideal English subject in the early modern period, a subjectivity that is predicated on whiteness. She explores how, in early modern performance, queer experiences, performances, and feelings might challenge, even if sometimes incoherently, nation building and colonial logic.
