There are many competing theories of literature. The aim of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to engage in detailed study of some of the more significant ideas in High theory and Neurocognitive literary criticism and to develop a capacity for situating their particular interests within these contexts. Alongside theories of literature, the course will have set literary texts which will serve as a springboard for consideration of the main theoretical issues.
