In this course, we will explore contemporary literature and films that engage with climate change. While climate cultures have often been associated with apocalyptic imagination, we will consider more varied stories, including horror, fairytales/ fantasy, and utopia. Literary works include: Kazuo Ishiguro, Klara and the Sun, Robbie Arnott, The Rain Heron; Franny Choi, The World Keeps Ending, and the World Goes On. Films: Eva Orner, Burning and Jordan Peele, Nope.
