Aili Pettersson Peeker

Aili Pettersson Peeker is a PhD Candidate in English with an emphasis in Cognitive Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her dissertation brings together literary studies, neurocognitive science, and philosophy of mind to rethink the relationship between empathy and literature with the help of Virginia Woolf and Toni Morrison. She has published on teaching cognitive literary studies and on the political potential of rage in William Faulkner and Lee Chang-dong. She is the Research Coordinator for the Trauma-Informed Pedagogy project at UCSB.
