You are all invited to join Las Maestras Center, the American Cultures and Global Contexts Center (ACGCC), and Hemispheric South/s Research Initiative for a reception and reading of Manuel Muñoz’s latest publication: The Consequences. The author will be in conversation with Prof. Cherrie Moraga after a reception with food for all! A book signing will follow as well.

The event will take place this Wednesday, Nov.19. Reception at 6 p.m and reading at 7 p.m at the McCune Conference Room.

Muñoz has published several books of fiction, notably The Faith Healer on Olive Avenue, shortlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. He has been recognized with a Whiting Writer’s Award and three O. Henry Awards. Originally from Dinuba of Tulare County, California, Manuel Muñoz is now a Professor of English at the University of Arizona. The Consequences is stunning work of fiction that offers a compelling and complex portrait of the California Central Valley and its peoples.
